You walk uphill from the produce stalls, the path bends past Bishop's Palace, and then the cathedral just opens up — twin spires reaching 105 metres, the kind of vertical you have to lean back for. Even from across the square it pulls the eye. In December 2025 it's still partly in scaffolding. The 2020 earthquake snapped the top off one spire and the other is being shored up, so the silhouette right now is half-restored
