Arguably the most perfectly preserved building from Ancient Rome. Its massive, unreinforced concrete dome remains the largest of its kind in the world, a testament to Roman architectural genius. The Pantheon also serves as the final resting place for several historical figures, including the Renaissance master Raphael.
Traveler Tips
Book in advance as it is one of the most popular sites in Rome. Entry requires a pre-booked ticket, especially on weekends and holidays. Pantheon is an active church, shoulders and knees should be covered to ensure entry.
