Stayed 4 nights at Banyan Tree Phuket in a Banyan Pool Villa for our 5-year anniversary and honestly I'm ruined for normal hotel rooms now. The villa is a whole compound with a private outdoor pool you can actually swim laps in, with daybeds, indoor and outdoor showers, and a soaking bathtub that looks out at the garden. We barely left for the first 24 hours just floating in the pool with the welcome champagne.
Traveler Tips
Bang Tao Beach is pretty but Patong it ain't, you're driving 30+ min to get to any real Phuket night markets and after one go we just stayed in the resort. Mosquitos at sunset are very real, ask housekeeping for the spray. Buggy from villa to lobby took 15 min one evening which was mildly painful when we had a 7pm reservation.
