2. How We Use Information
We may use the information we collect for any purpose connected with operating, improving, securing, promoting, and commercializing the Service, including but not limited to:
- providing, personalizing, and recommending content (ranking your For You feed, suggesting users to follow, surfacing similar reviews, autocompleting searches);

- communicating with you, including sending notifications about activity on your reviews, marketing messages (which you may opt out of), service updates, and responses to your inquiries;

- complying with legal obligations and enforcing our rights;
- any other purpose disclosed to you at the time of collection or with your consent.
3. How We Share Information
We may share information in the following circumstances:
- With other users — your profile, reviews, comments, photos, videos, and other User Content are visible to other users of the Service and are publicly accessible by default unless you change visibility settings (where available).
- With service providers — companies that help us operate the Service (cloud hosting, analytics, content delivery, email, customer support, fraud detection, payment processing). These providers process data on our behalf under contract.

- For legal reasons — to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to enforce our Terms; or to protect the rights, safety, or property of UnoKumo, our users, or others.
- In aggregate or de-identified form — with anyone, for any purpose. Once data is aggregated or de-identified such that it cannot reasonably be linked back to you, this Policy no longer applies.
- With your consent — for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we request your consent.
4. Your Rights and Choices
Subject to applicable law, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information. These rights apply at minimum to users in the European Economic Area (GDPR), the United Kingdom (UK GDPR), California (CCPA/CPRA), and Singapore (PDPA), and we extend equivalent rights to all users where practicable:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

- Restriction or objection — restrict or object to certain processing of your personal information, including direct marketing.
- Data portability — receive a portable copy of your personal information.
- Withdraw consent — where we rely on your consent to process your data, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
- Opt out of sale or sharing(California residents) — you have the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law.
- Lodge a complaint — with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@unokumo.app. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, secure the Service, measure how the Service is used, and personalize content. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect functionality (for example, you may need to sign in repeatedly).
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After deletion of your account, we may retain certain information for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, enforcement of our Terms, backups, and aggregated analytics. User Content that has been republished, syndicated, quoted, or incorporated into derivative works by UnoKumo or third parties may persist beyond account deletion as described in our Terms of Service.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the local minimum age of digital consent, if higher). We do not knowingly collect personal information from such children. If you believe we have collected information from a child below the relevant age, please contact us at support@unokumo.app and we will take appropriate action.
8. International Data Transfers
The Service is operated globally. Your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than your home country. Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for international transfers.
9. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit, secure storage, access controls, and audit logging. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, however; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
